HRDN launched the tree plantation drive,” Plant for Pakistan “as part of the 75th independence anniversary celebrations on August 4th,2022 at Jamia Ghousia Zia-Ul-Uloom Rawalpindi. The students and management of Jamia and HRDN planted the saplings of (Guava, Sukhcahin, Cypiam, Kachnar) on the occasion. 350 saplings were planted.
The students took an active part in the speech competition by highlighting the importance and environmental benefits of trees in the light of the Quran and Sunnah.
They deliberated that as per the Quranic teachings each of us is the custodian of nature so we have to live in harmony with the environment. The world is scourged by climate change and extreme weather patterns, the trees can save us from the ill effects of climate change. Trees not only beautify nature and our surroundings but provide shelter and food for animals and humans, purify the air pollution, regulates the temperature, minimize flooding have economic value. It is mentioned in Quran that it is a gift by a deity.
