Dr. Manzoor Ahmed brings over 20 years of strategic leadership and management experience in humanitarian, development, peace-building, and advocacy programs in Asia and the Middle East. Currently heading large field operations of Islamic Relief in Afghanistan, Manzoor has recently completed his mission in Yemen, where he served as Country Director of Search for Common Ground and Country Director of Global Communities – CHF International. He also served as Deputy Country Director of Oxfam in Yemen. In Pakistan, he led Oxfam GB programs as Associate Country Director and provided leadership to Sungi Development Foundation in various leadership roles.

He has served in various strategic leadership and management positions and has worked on programs and projects responding to complex emergencies resulting from natural disasters and conflicts. He is a life member of HRDN and served as HRDN Board Member.

Manzoor was a Member Board of Directors of HAP-International (now CHS Alliance), founding Chairperson of the National Humanitarian Network (NHN) a national NGO network in Pakistan, and on executive boards of other CSOs. He is quite familiar with issues – that NGO and Civil Society leaders face in Pakistan and is an experienced facilitator on NGO leadership, management, and strategic planning.

Manzoor holds a master’s degree in Development from Reading University, UK, a master’s degree in Educational Planning and Management, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and a master’s degree in Public Health from Pakistan.

Dr. Manzoor has hands-on experience in leading humanitarian, development, and peace programs in highly complex and fragile environments and he dealt with several uncertain environments and complexities during his leadership role.
