Dr. Manzoor Ahmed brings over 20 years of strategic leadership and management experience of humanitarian, development, peace building and advocacy programs in Asia and the Middle East. Dr Manzoor is currently Country Director of Search for Common Ground in Yemen. He was Country Director of Global Communities -CHF Int in Yemen and before he led Oxfam programs in Yemen and Pakistan and remained on senior leadership roles of Sungi Development Foundation, OAKCD and ESMA. He worked directly with the communities, government, and international humanitarian architecture. He is a Life Member of HRDN, remained on its Board of Directors and played his role in establishing and strengthening HRDN role in promoting human development in country and the region.
Manzoor brings expertise across a variety of sectors at policy and practice levels; including Human Resource Development, Food Security, Livelihoods, WASH, Health, Disaster Risk Management, Urban Poverty, Gender Justice, Protection, Human Rights, Governance, Community Mobilization, Inequality and Participation, Conflict Transformation and Peace Building, Stabilization, Humanitarian Accountability, NGOs Governance, Civil Society Strengthening and Partnership Management. He has served in various strategic leadership and management positions and has worked on programs and projects responding to complex emergencies resulting from natural disasters and conflicts. Manzoor was Member Board of Directors of HAP-International (now Core Humanitarian Standards CHS), founding Chairperson of National Humanitarian Network (NHN), Member Board of Director HRDN, Founding BOD Member of Act International, Founding BoD Member/CEO of OAKCD and remained on advisory boards of INGOs Networks in Pakistan and Yemen.
Manzoor holds a master’s degree in Development from the Reading University, UK, a master’s degree in Educational Planning and Management and a master’s degree in Public Health from Pakistan. He also holds Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in addition to participating in professional trainings in leadership, management, and humanitarian and development programming
