Project Objectives

➤ To create awareness among 5,500 ordinary citizens of Islamabad regarding available public entities and bodies—such as the Federal Ombudsman Office—through a media campaign
➤ To provide a platform such as a “Citizen Group” for citizens and civil society to discuss and advocate for strengthened citizen voices in grievance redressal through the Office of the Ombudsman, Islamabad
➤ To undertake advocacy activities to amplify the voices of disadvantaged groups (e.g., women, children, youth) through stakeholder dialogues and seminars
➤ To advocate and contribute to institutional strengthening, transparency, and effective service delivery by the Office of the Ombudsman through stakeholder dialogues and capacity-building efforts

Achievements

Baseline and endline data collected to gauge citizens' knowledge about the Office of the Federal Ombudsman (FO):

  • Only 10% had knowledge at baseline

  • 30% showed awareness by endline

Communication strategy developed to enhance effective and systematic outreach through media
Capacity building of 60 Ombudsman Office officials in IT and management skills
➤ Conducted stakeholder dialogues on the role and responsibilities of the Ombudsman institution
➤ A peace song for prosperity written by a university professor and performed live at various project locations
➤ Organized seminar and panel discussion with experts from government departments—around 200 participants attended
➤ Conducted case studies and awareness campaigns in collaboration with media
