Sir Roomi Hayat is the CEO of IRM – Institute of Rural Management, whose landmark was established by him in 1992. He has made his mark as a renowned capacity development trainer. Being a social entrepreneur, he is dedicated to poverty alleviation through enhancement of livelihoods and generation of self-employability.
He also works as the Chief Executive Officer of Institute of Rural Management. He is currently the Chairperson of the Board of an international think tank Human Resource Development Network (HRDN), Vice Chairman of Akhter Hameed Khan Center, member board of RSPN, and member of IUCN Executive Committee Pakistan and member of CEC-IUCN Geneva. Moreover, among his accomplishments is the establishment of Innovations Center for Education and a Center of Executive Education in Pakistan to provide high quality education to university students. Being an advocate of women empowerment, he has pioneered Women Leadership Programme and Young Professional Programme.
Mr. Hayat has taken initiative of over 500 training events, both domestically and internationally. He has authored many training manuals and modules including “Training of Trainers” module for United Nation ESCAP training. His unparalleled approach in course designed sets him apart
He holds a Postgraduate Degree in Engineering from NJIT- USA, Rural Sociology from Agriculture University Peshawar, a Post Graduate Diploma in Improving Training Quality from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign- USA and AIT- Thailand. He is also a Doctoral Candidate at Pakistan’s prestigious Quaid-e-Azam university.
